John F. Kenndy once said, “ Without debate, without criticism no administration and no country can succeed and no republic can survive.”

Keeping these lines in view and to make students well versed with the rules and regulations of debate as a practice, a debating competition was held in KCIS on 29th of Dec 2017, the topic of which was “Should children below 18 be allowed to drive?” The debate was introduced by Mrs. Arti Sharma and was taken over by Mrs. Rajni Malhotra as Moderator. The event was evaluated by Principal Mr. Subhendu Sarkar and Headmistress Mrs. Kesar Patel.

The arguments and counter arguments were efficiently portrayed by all the contestants of Grade 9 and 11 taking up the motion of the debate alternatively, speaking against after favouring it. The debate was summed up by the first contestant Ritika Singh of Grade 11. Mrs Rajni Malhotra concluded the debate where from Mrs. Kesar Patel took over to brief over the proceedings followed by Principal Sir who appreciated the efforts of the students and the faculty involved in the proceedings.

The first position was bagged by Asmi Abrol , Rashi Aga stood second and Yashasvi Suri stood third. It was an enlightening experience and an eye opener for both students and the faculty..
